As photographers, nothing gets us fired up quite like an engagement session. It’s secretly one of our favorite parts of working with you. The good vibes are contagious, the anticipation is real, and your love story (in all its glory) is on full display. What could be better?
Your engagement session offers us an opportunity to get to know each other–because who wants a stranger following them around on their wedding day? Most of all, it’ll be a chance for you to get cozy in front of the camera. Your wedding day will be hectic enough without adding “being professionally photographed for the first time” to the list.

Did he propose at the lake where you had your first date? Whether you have a special spot in mind or not, we’re happy to advise on timing so we can capture the best light of the day.

WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU BRING TWO OUTFITS: BRING A SNAPPY CASUAL LOOK AND SOMETHING A LITTLE DRESSIER. THINK DRESSES, PRETTY SWEATERS, SUITS, BLAZERS, AND SLACKS. AT THE END OF THE DAY, BOTH SHOULD FEEL TRUE TO WHO YOU ARE. OPT FOR AN ENDURING, TIMELESS LOOK FREE OF LOUD PATTERNS AND COLORS.
WARM NEUTRALS KEEP THE ATTENTION ON YOU AND THE CONNECTION YOU SHARE. COLORS LIKE CREAM, LIGHT BLUE, AND BLUSH LOOK LOVELY WITH OUR EDITING STYLE. AND YOU CAN’T GO WRONG WITH A WELL-TAILORED SUIT (IF THAT FEELS A LITTLE STUFFY, YOU CAN ALWAYS SKIP THE TIE).
ONE RULE OF THUMB: DRESS LIKE YOU’RE ATTENDING THE SAME EVENT. IF YOU CAN’T DECIDE BETWEEN OUTFITS, BRING THEM BOTH! TOGETHER, WE’LL DECIDE WHAT WORKS BEST WHEN YOU ARRIVE FOR OUR SESSION.

Rest assured, we will never charge for postponements relating to the weather. You can't choose the weather for your wedding day, but you can choose it for engagements! Keep in mind, these percentages are based on typical weather in Austin and may adjust for other cities! We always love a golden lit photo, so if you really don't want a cloudy day, let us know and we can try to reschedule based on the projected cloud cover.

0-40% - IT PROBABLY WON'T RAIN, BUT MAY BE CLOUDY. WE KEEP THE DATE.
40-60% - MAY BE CLOUDY, MAY BE SUNNY. WHO KNOWS! IT'S UP TO YOU!
60-100% - WE RESCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER DAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO SHOOT IN THE RAIN!
